How It All Started

You probably know me as “kay_leo3” on social media, but I just wanted to take a quick minute to properly introduce myself! My name is Kaylee and I am from a small town in California named Truckee, but I currently reside in Reno, Nevada. I started my social media in 2016 after I posted this picture to a Toyota group on Facebook .. many of you reading this have most likely seen this picture because it BLEW UP! I ended up getting around 800 friend requests (sorry to those of you who have had your friend request sitting for years hahaha) from it and thought to myself there had to be a way for people to follow me through this adventure we call life, but not necessarily know EVERYTHING about me.. And thats when I started my public Instagram account.

For those of you who have been following me from the beginning, you know my IG name was originally “kayleetoyota”… haha lame. I changed my name to “kay_leo3” around 10k followers. My original goal when starting my IG was to get sponsors for my truck and create a sick build on a budget because you know.. broke college kid problems. Now, here I am. With over 200k Instagram followers, over 1 million views a week on Snapchat and a couple truck sponsors, just trying to figure it all out haha.

When I first started my IG I was going to college full time while working at Cabelas and coaching 2-3 volleyball teams at a time, and thats how I came about doing all of these photoshoots! My co-worker at Cabelas did photography as a hobby and asked to shoot me and now it’s 3 years later and we have somewhere around 50,000 photos together! I also have met tons of other photographers along the way and you’ll see them and get to know them through my posts!

In the beginning of 2017 I started working for Axelson Tactical and that really brought me deeper into the firearms industry and helped my social media tremendously. And yes, I still work for Axelson but only when they need me for events/gun shows! I currently am pursuing a career in real estate even though I went to college for 6 years and got 4 degrees pertaining to criminal justice lol wtf. I decided to make this change so that I could take over my dads company that he’s had for the last 30 years!

TONS of people have asked what my logo means.. so here’s the break down. Look at my logo again (scroll down, theres a picture at the bottom of this page), notice the K and the L in the body of the lion? The K is for my real name, which is obviously Kaylee, and the first part of my screen name”Kay”. The L is because my last name starts with an L and the second part of my sn “Leo”. Leo means lion, and also stands for Law Enforcement Officer, which is what I went to college for and is my dream job, I’m just currently pursuing other things in life! And I’m sorry to say but I’m here to burst your bubble and tell you no, my zodiac sign is not a LEO, I just happen to LOVE lions! Hence the huge lion tattoo on my rib cage (peep the Instagram highlight called “tattoos” to see). Last but not least, the crown is because.. well you know;).
